Fun Fact

Fitz and the Tantrums’ debut album, “Pickin’ Up the Pieces,” was recorded in lead singer Michael Fitzpatrick’s living room, and the band was formed out of a last-minute performance at a Hollywood club. The song was inspired by a conversation between the band’s lead singer, Michael Fitzpatrick, and his friend, Sam Hollander, who is also a songwriter. Hollander told Fitzpatrick about a dream he had in which he was in a club and everyone was clapping their hands. Fitzpatrick was inspired by this story and wrote the song “HandClap” to capture the feeling of excitement and joy that he felt in the dream.
