The band Cannons met in high school in Santa Clarita, California. Ryan Clapham and Paul Davis were friends since childhood, and they started playing music together in their early teens. Michelle Joy moved to Santa Clarita from Florida in 2011, and she met Clapham and Davis through a mutual friend. The three of them started writing music together, and they eventually formed the band Cannons in 2013.
