Videos: Grunge

Grunge music is a sub-genre of alternative rock that emerged in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States in the late-1980s through the 90s. It is characterized by its heavy guitar sound, angst-ridden lyrics, and often murky production values. Grunge bands often incorporated elements of punk rock, metal, and classic rock into their music, and were known for their raw and unpolished approach. Some of the most notable grunge bands include Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, and Alice in Chains. The genre gained widespread popularity in the early 1990s, but declined in the mid-1990s following the death of Nirvana’s frontman, Kurt Cobain. Despite this, grunge remains a significant influence on modern rock music.
